Our designers wanted a fighting butt that would prevent the normal torque twisting motion that happens while you are wrestling with that big largemouth you hooked near heavy cover. The flat sides help reduce the torque and wrist fatigue over the course of a long fishing day, and the larger flared bottom adds comfort when you stick the rod butt into the body or mid section.
