BLCAG Surf Guides
The LC frame has spawned its own following with heavy surf rod builders who use the guide “backwards” on lower sections of the rod as a stripper. The LC is just the right height for such use and its longer footprint gives it the balance and strength to perform flawlessly in this application. It is also often seen on casting rods as a complete guide train and is often used “backwards” on the lower section of a surf rod and “frontwards” on the tip section. Many builders transition to an MN guide for runners on heavy rods although to stiffen tip action in lighter rods, LC’s can be used throughout the tip section for an extremely strong, yet slightly heavier rod. LC Double Foot Micros are just a slight bit taller than KW (approximately a half to one millimeter) and also have a slightly longer footprint. They are very strong and have a long history as an excellent choice under tough conditions. The long footprint makes it possible to intentionally select this model to stiffen a rod lacking in “backbone”. The LC Frame is famous for managing line as a stripper guide on large surf rods but is available down to a size 5.5 and can be used as a running guide as well. LC's long footprint can also stiffen the upper section of \"flimsy\" rods.
